Ive had one as well and completely agree. Very good cars. Brakes are brilliant and once remapped very rapid. Interior is built to the same level as VW but the materials used do feel slightly cheaper. I could get 38mpg out of mine on the motorway. If I went back to one car Id be tempted by one again.

Drove one of those before I got the Boxster - very nice but ate coil packs...

Heavy but comfy and a great drive, bugger, maybe I should get one again?

suely with an a3 you are just paying a premium for the badge as the golf leon and a3 are basiclly the same underneath i prefer the leon as its quite a quirky looking car and not the usual eu safety box .

I don't doubt it at all. Heritage VW (Bristol) are c*nts, to be honest. Always really unhelpful, and I'll never forget going in with my Mum when she was looking at buying a new car. They really, really couldn't have treated her worse. I was shocked.
She went BMW in the end.

However, I now live Eastside, and I've got to say Vindis in Bedford are a completely different story. My wipers failed (whilst ton up on the M/Way!) recently, so I pulled in and described the issue to the guy. He said he'd bet it'd be the mech, and they had one on the shelf for 37 (or thereabouts).
Bought it, fitted it, fixed. This is not the only occasion, they've always been good. Whereas Heritage Bristol have ALWAYS been useless. I mean, they didn't even have an Aux/alternator drive belt for my MK4 when I did the cambelt - WTF?!

Seat though. Hmmm. I'd rather save a bit longer and get an Audi. Personal choice, of course.
