Yeah, I like the look too - does anyone know how Matt or Satin finishes hold up to acid rain, bird poo etc etc??

As soon as bird crap hits it,you will want to be washing it off straight away if you can.

Acid rain will leave white spots if not washed often enough too...I like the look also, but it must be a slight hassle to keep on top of.

All sounds very technical, I just sprayed mine with 600ml cans!!

A month on and a few washes it seems fine.

why? if your paints terrible then i can see its an easy fix, but i wouldnt do it to a car with a decent finish[:s] surely its better to get any bad bits proffesionally re-painted? if you do decide to matt it! any paint you put on will only be as good as the prep work regardless of colour or finish

I would think that satin looks far better than a mat finish and is probably easier to keep looking decent. Are you sure that some of you don't mean satin rather than mat?

thats called "ORANGE PEEL" mate!!! if you have enough paint on the car you can wet flat it off with 1200-1500 grit paper, then spin it up and hope its enough, it may still have flat spots though, it will take some effort but you got this far so its worth a rescue attempt, just be carefull on any edges if you use a buffer, it will either burn the paint into fine pimples if you stay in one place too long or tare through paint it to the primer!! was the finish baked in an oven? i hope you didnt paint it in the street!!!!
