supersprint do one, about 300 i think.
or use a scirocco 16valve one but there pretty tricky to find, or
    expensive to buy new!

You can an ashley one from Rally Design for about 150 + vat, i've got one, they are not the best quality, but are the cheapest. Make sure you upgrade the front and rear engine mounts thou, otherwise you will crack the manifold with all the flexing. ;)

ramblin m8,you gotta at least uprate the rear g/box mount honestly.

i ran mine for about a week on standard new mounts and the amount of movement was unreal [xx(]

for the sake of saving the expensive exhaust manifold, you really need to uprate.

does transmit a little vibration but better than killing the manifold which it 'will' do.

you could try the diesel rear box mount and poly front stubber?
although im not sure how long the diesel mount will last. :)

Mk1 16v Manifolds, what has anyone used?

I am after a mk1 16v conversion manifold but i am seeing conflicting info on what the options are. So far ive found a choice of 2 (updated below, now 5 off)

    1) Hottuning (Raceland) S/S 260 direct from Hottuning Belgium tel 32 55 310 007 (cheaper than ebay)

    2) Ashley M/S 216 (as used by TSR)

    3) Dubpower S/S 279 (also Storm Dev)

    4) Supersprint S/S 418 (through Euro Car Parts)

    5) G-Werks 315 but none in at the moment and not sure when they are coming in?

The Ashley is mild steel the Hottunning is stainless but ive seen different posts about both systems saying that they will foul the steering on a UK car?

I will be fitting to a mk1 1.6 GTI fitted with a KR engine and mated to a Jetex exhaust.

Anybody fitted a 16v manifold to their mk1 with no problems? where did you get it from?

    Help!!

The Ashley fits fine (it fouls a TSR power steering kit, but fine for the standard one).

Also for the list is Supersprint.

Ashleys rattle on ARB's don't they Chris? My 8v Ashley did.

Having looked at the Ashley that came off my 8v, I wouldn't buy another. Poorly designed and made. Better than a standard manifold, but not going to maximise your power.

Dubpower.co.uk also do Mk1 16v conversion manifolds. I'd want to see one in the flesh before buying though, and I think they'll rattle on the ARB, as there's no 'up and over' section on the pipe.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info,

TSR use and sell an Ashley manifold with a Jetex exhaust (ive got the Jetex exhaust on mine) but this is M/S and a 4 into 1 and doesnt look like the best quality?

Miltek no longer make anything for the MK1, not enough interest.

I like the look of the Dubpower one though at 279 especially with the flexible sections, has anyone tried one of these.

The supersprint looks good as well, but theres no flexibles on it, i will get prices tomorrow.

I will give Storm a bell tomorrow.

Anyone got any of these fitted, what are they like?

    Found "Sharpy", and PMed him!

    Thanks again

    Ste

pretty sure mine is a hottuning one, and definately is too close to the steering rack. Had to replace the UJ link bit once due to a siezed bearing

    'tis an ABF tho

I ran a supersprint on mine, they do run close to the steering rack as they are basically a rocco 16v LHD manifold, I never had any problems although mine was heat wrapped and the steering boot was tweaked.

Sold it a while ago and wish i bloody well hadn't [8(]
