    Engine Bracket - Rear

Ive just notcied that my 20v engine is missing the rear engine mount bracket.

Will i have to source a MK4 one, or will a Mk2 one fit ?

    Cheers

The mk2 one will fit but you can use a passat one (357199354) for extra clearance i had to grind down the master cylinder for clearance.

Now i will strip everything not needed.

Wirring was a nightmare to strip had to cut at bulk head but have both sides.

Seat DBW loked differnt than mk4 ones used as it was all joined and controller was over by clutch controlled on bar so left it there[:x]

I think SEM is the way foward

That was my guess but was unsure.

Yes it is the AYP cupra engine.

I can see why they cut the loom as it royal pain in the ass to remove i took hammer to heater matrix to get loom out after lossing my ttemper with it:lol:

The only way to get it out in one piece would have been to cut bulk head with grinder which i did not have to hand

I'm sure I remember from another thread that yes the Ibiza master is shorter but you need a spacer to get it to fit,the one I saw had an ally plate/spacer cut and fitted to make it fit.

Cheers for the info everyone, much appreciated. I'll probably buy another 20v bracket or use my current mk2 one. At least i know now cheers . Regarding the master cylinder, i'm sure the engine fits when the timing belt cover is removed ?

my master cylinder just fit with no cover on but it was too close for comfort so i grinded some off as qpeng says on there site and i can now fit the cambelt cover on with about 5mm clearance.

YEP it is, get rid of it and vent it into the wing and resistor in the wiring

Just wondering, whats the best radiator to use on a 20v conversion. I cant really use the 8v one as the outlets are on the opposite side? Some people use the 1.3 rad iirc, along with the 1.3 coolant hoses to ? Any other recommendations. Also i'm sure i'll have to go for twin fans? Which ones are best to use. Cheers in advanced. :-)

Any ideas on the above guys. I've seen a real mixture of different setups, from the 1.3, digi 8v and rado vr6 rads! Its not going to be a track car so wont be ragged much. Cheers

I know people that just flip the 8v one over and it works fine for them. Can't be 100% sure on how well it works, they run around without a t-stat and known the for the occasional bodge ;)

Cheers for getting back Shaz. Would the rad work correctly upside down? I've heard of people using the 1.3 one, but i'm sure its not big enough? I wont be driving the car hard like track days ect, i just want it to keep cool and work effectively. How about the vr6 rado one? I'm sure they bolt up in the same way as the 8v ones?
