Are you on about doing this with a Mk2 or Mk3 fuel tank?

What the heck is a lead free restrictor!?

Well, I'm aiming for 280now and 350 in the future (maybe) but I'm considering this because my pumps are screaming, so maybe already dead:lol:

How can I mount an intank to prevent surge on the mk2 tank?

I'd like to do that too but I'm getting the impression that I'll have to fit a Mk3 tank to prevent surge / starvation.

    Should be 22mm.
Prevented you from filling up with four star or diesel back in the day. Now standard on all new petrol cars.

I have a 91 G60 with a single in-tank pump. Could I just connect a walbro in line under the car where the filter is and retain the in-tank pump as a lift pump? Aiming for 280 ish too.

Right. I removed the tank from my Mk2 last night. Hope to get a Mk3 tank and lines etc at the weekend and fit. Will then get a Walbro in tank and hopefully be all sorted.

I take it a VR6 fuel filter is good for the amount of fuel flow I'll be needing?

    Any news on this vwd40?
I think my car "ran out of fuel" at 6k the other day, so I'll have to do something about it...

You cant fit an in tank pump to a mk2 and prevent surge (without a fuel res.)

Best option is the 044 bosch pump mounted inside the car along with a fuel swirl pot. This will supply enough fuel for 400bhp and also have no surge problems when going around corners/roundabouts. Will take a picture of my setup when i actually get round to fitting it!

Got a new engine coming, so will have a bit more enthusiasm

I have fitted the Mk3 tank, pump & lines. Was a doddle to fit.

I'm now ready to get another pump to fit into the Mk3 tank. I think Stealth Racing do a kit that bolts into a Mk3 tank to flow serious amounts of fuel. I beleive they have found something like a Mitsubishi Evo pump fits with a little modification.

VWD40 I am at exactly the same stage as you... I am speaking to a guy at Impossible performance who thinks he has the answer. I have a mk3 tank and I also have an RS4 fuel pump, if that doesnt fit, the guy at impossible has an on the shelf pump that will fit... retails around 90... Ill let you know asap as to what I can find out.

chances are what's being offered is a 255 Walbro.
beware of surge on these if in-tank one is being chosen, or be prepared to add a swirl pot as well.

I have been told that there is a kit out there that fits into the white plastic casing that houses the std pump. The casing acts as a baffle as it fills with fuel from in the tank.

That's why I changed to the Mk3 tank as I didn't want to run an inline pump and swirl pot.
