Just wondering whether they did such a thing for a Mk2 and where i might get hold of one with the switch and motor?
i dont think they did but ive heared motors from volvo's of similar age and same make of sunroof may fit
Does anyone have an idea on how to wire in an E/sunroof in a MK2 Golf?? I'm gonna have a go but not sure how it all connects together.... The motor i have i brought from the classifieds but im not sure if it is a proper MK2 (aftermarket) Golf one or from a different car as there are no identifying names or numbers on it.....
An early Audi 100 motor fits with a slight mod, you need to remove some of the metal from around the original winder mech. Good look finding a cover I've been looking for one for years, thinking of giving up on it. [:^(]
jetta i have a tutorial that says he used a cover from a volvo that he recovered with the same material and it fits well also used the volvo leccy button
mine works just fine and the cover matches and fit the headliner ok, not sure which model Audi it came off originally though
I have a cover, not sure what car it cones from. The pattern on it is similar to the pattern on the dash/centre console etc. Just not too sure on how to wire it in?? anyone with any knowledge of this??
The motor has to spin two ways so it will have two positive inputs, one from open roof position and the other from closed. There should be one earth. Can I suggest looking at the electric window wiring diagram on page 13.27 of Haynes. It will act as a guide. The switch will need to be a pivot switch will allows a positive output when pressed at the top and at the bottom. Bit like normal window switch. Sorry if this if this is already obvious.
Will do Steve!! The motor came with some wiring, looks like just two wires, a positive and negative. Unfortunately the switch i have (looks similar to an E30 BMW window switch) didnt come with any wiring. So really this should be wired in the same way as the electric windows and connected up do you think??
I had a look at a passat with leccy sunroof and there were 4 wires going to the switch and 3 to the motor. Might be worth just having a look at a car with one in the scrappy.
yeah, could just get the loom and use that. I cant see that there would be many differences model to model.....
nah there wouldnt. Also you could just use a passat/mk3 golf switch and loom and connect it to your motor. Im gunna go it that way once i find a motor that will fit.
I'm gonna try and see if i can identify the one i have. It was sold to me as a MK2 Golf one (dont forget these were not VW factory made so probably wouldnt have VW stamped on them anyway) but i cant read clearing the make and model number stamped on the side of it.
