A good read, and inspiring when I feel the pain with mine

I was booked for Bedford on Mon but my turbo blew, gutted. Would love to have a look over yours. Good effort, enjoy the day.

I'm fairly sure the driveshaft damage was a result of running up the strip at santa pod. I was getting loads of wheel spin in 1st and 2nd, followed by massive amounts of grip and heavy acceleration. The fast transition of load was too much for the driveshaft and it started to twist the end off it. I'm still using standard driveshafts for now but I have cut down on the wheel spin where I can to save the driveshafts taking a beating.

Sorry to hear about your turbo letting you down. Hate to rub salt in your wounds but you missed an awesome day!

It was truly awesome! I don't think I was far behind you on the track mileage! Can't wait to see the footage! I was using my mates camera and he still hasn't burnt it to dvd so I can do the same. You looked like you were on it, I tried to catch you and I think it was the guy in the red rocco up but I had cold tyres and spun it just before the pit straight. Then the car developed a noise so I had to pit [8(]. Turned out to be the hub nut had come a bit loose and the caliper bracket bolts were just touching the ABS ring. A quick torque up and she was back out [:D]. I'm definitely going back to Bedford, totally loved the place! Took me a while to learn the track and get used to the car again but the last few sessions more than made up for the time I lost sorting out a few little gremlins. Should have come over mate never to busy for a chat

Can't belive it was April since I last updated this, not much in the way on mods have taken place but plans are in the pipe line for quite a big re-design over the winter months ready for more track action next year

Still in the re-design phase at the mo but while I was taking a few mesurements I noticed that the rear damper had moved on its lower mount. Possibly down to the rear beam flexing due to the spacers and the extra grip from the slicks.

    Is the NSR... :o

Good job bracing the rear beam is on the "work in progress" list

    Love the build mate!
Just wondering what have you done to the engine? Planning a big power 20v build in the future.

    Cheers mate.

The engine is an AUM with:

    Ihi vf34 roller bearing turbo
    Pauter rods
    JE pistons +1.5mm over bore
    Supertech valve train
    Jabba exhaust manifold
Pro Alloy equal fill inlet manifold
Pro Alloy mk2 20v intercooler / radiator combo
    440 injectors
    VR6 MAF
    Pro Alloy pipe work
    Custom made inlet manifold adapter
    Uprated water pump
    OE engine management
    Lightened flywheel

Think that is about it for the engine. If I was to do it again I would go for a 2.0L bottom end instead of the 1.9.

Been spending a lot of time on the re-design and felt the need to actually work on the car for a change.

Not going to give too much away at this stage as I'm not quite 100% happy with the plans but either way it still involves major surgery.

Here is where we are so far...

    photo-3.JPG

10 points for working out the new addition ;)

Also removed the drivers side windows for Pascal77 aka Mike to template for a set of customised uber light windows. Which will look awesome when fitted!

    " It's good but it's not right"

Been running 5 stud for a while now...

Windows have been missing since Bedford trackday finale...

Caliper is just swung round and sitting on the beam. In the right area though!

I thought you'd gone the OEM parts route, but it's obviously got independent rear suspension and/or a rear driven axle.

The fuel tank still looks like it is in place which sort of discounts IRS beam like Ford Focus.
The rear shock area looks odd through the wheel.

    I wish!

Still 99% OE at the back and still 2WD.

Correct! The fuel tank is still in place (for now) and the area of interest is indeed behind the wheel.

    Getting warmer....

    Another pic from today....
