    The RS for me.
The looks, the engine, the drive. If you do get a MK6 then you'll want to make it go that bit faster and rev it more, you know you do. Everyone one of us does it, even if its only for a 100 meters or so. The RS all the way. At my place one guy has an Escort Cossie which still looks awesome with its whaletail spoiler!

    Rocco R20 overview

tbh im very very tempted by this! less tempting for some scrotes to rob the house to get the keys too! plus its a bit more in your face than a mk6 gti but not as bad as a Focus RS....lets see what VW say.

the mk6 will never ever look as nice as a rocco, esp not a R20 one...

and on the renault thing, Ive seen a few new Meganes and I dont like them that much, (but they are better than the mk6) the prob is its french and will loose money like a bucket with no bottom!

I can get a focus rs for 12000 maximum, probably cheaper, my cousin just got 1 for 12k, we get ford privilge (35%0ff a new ford minimum) because our grandad and his dad worked for fords dagenham for the majority of their lives!

12k for a new focus rs? Given it starts from 25,745 on the road, thats a hefty 53% discount!

    http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?i...ages?q=ford+st&hl=en&rlz=1R2RNWN_en&sa=X&um=1

It is 35%, my cousin px'd as well to get more off than 35% it was 20k to start with, but thats how much he paid, both my grandad and my uncle worked for at Fords dagenham plant.

I looked at gettin a fiesta st when the 07 plate came out, it was 15k and I could get it for 10k

    R26R or RS, tbh.
The Mk6 GTI will become as common as muck, just wait and see.
A bit too understated really, the 'engineered dullness' is clearly visible.
M7R, I'd take your Mk1 over practically any other car on this site. You really would be falling along way if you stumped up 20k+ for a brand new car, the depreciation would be f'king appalling right now.

Feel free to take it off my hands...only after 3k and if its not gone by the winter then it will be stripped and become a cube.....maybe [:^(]

Oh and for the R20s the dealers know nothing! I knew more than they did!!!! in Derby I got the feeling the guy didn't believe I could really afford / want one... plus he told me the deposit would be 1000! so i went to Nottingham where the chap was far more honest and even told me the 1000 deposit was wrong, its never more than 500!! Anthony is now trying to find out when the order books will open so i can be first in line to put my name down  also Nottingham let me have a drive of their only rocco in stock, a 1.4tsi 10 model year one so it had the updated dash and steering wheel etc, it was a GT but was still nice to drive and even the basic seats were pretty good so the R20s should be even better than my Audi S line ones!

the R20 should keep its value quite well as its a very niche model and have you looked at the price of used roccos? they are only about 2000 less than a brand spanking new one and theres only 5-10 in the whole of VW second hand ;)

There's 130 on the autotrader site?

    What's the new price 20K ? - I'd class 6K in depreciation in 12 months pretty harsh...

But thats not as harsh as the depreciation on a Renault or Ford would be.
