Is the sandwich plate in the picture the one you have fitted? Thats a thermostatically controlled one, or did you undo it and remove the thermostat? To be honest, id rather run it with, as it will take an age to warm up and running through winter your oil temps are going to be way too cool.

Ahhh, i thought it was! I paid 45 for the kit without it from Rally Design. The kit with the thermostat is 61 so they've sent me one with one. Oh well, i won't complain :)

    Looks excellent!

I was going to say the same thing about the sandwich plate, that's a thermostat one - I wouldn't worry though, I fitted one to mine a while ago and it's been fine. The car still warms up as quickly as ever and you can feel the oil cooler pipes warm up after about 85 degrees on the oil temp gauge as they should when the 'stat opens.

    Thanks for the comments people!

Bundles, the battery cover came from here.

Reevze, the turbo to intercooler pipework is the original turbo technics stuff. As for the alloy one from intercooler to inlet, i emailed a bloke off ebay who was selling tubing asking if he could fabricate custom parts. I sent him the old rubber tube (see first post) which he copied and also made me a load of t-pieces for the coolent inlet and outlet for the turbo. PM me if your serious about having something made.

Had a nice little trip to Stealth this morning followed by an even better trip home [:D]

    Before:

    189.6 bhp @ 6227rpm
    179.7 lb ft @ 4990rpm

    After:

    216.3 bhp @ 6384rpm
    205.9 lb ft @ 5016rpm

Its only the turbo and intercooler holding things back now but i've gotta draw the line somewhere (for now anyway;) ). Brakes and suspension really need sorting now so thats my next step.

Everythings going good Neil! Glad you kept your car in the end. Are you going to the Stealth RR day on the 10th? Would be good to see your car rip up the rollers!
