Ask them if they know they are breaking the law, doing wrong even. They`ll all say yes. They are human Azrael ... they just cant be bothered to act like it. Its laziness, and arrogance. They think because they are poor, that it gives them an excuse to act that way ? Well bullsh*t. Rot in prison you f*cks, its what you do best.
Azrael, master of the fine art of misguided opinionism. I remember 15 year old kids doing it - They went veggie, wittered on about politics then... They grew up and shut up.
Yeah i`m sure that`ll work eventually Or you could read the million and one sociological studies that tell us crime is a result of poverty. Well now theres a suprise. But if the prevailing reason for social ills are socio-economic based then why is nothing done? Why are things worsening? Because to counter these ills would require some sort of societal reform but that never happens, But why? I think you left selfishness out as well.
Should have warned they would drop an A bomb on new orleans if the hurricane flooded it then they'd have tried to get out. Or at least it wouldve sorted them looters out. and the stadium would smell nicer by now. Everyone likes mushrooms
My point den was that whilst you seem highly qualified in pointing out causes for scorn you never seem to have an opinion on the solution past "lock `em up, kill `em" As the supposedly naive youth it seems strange to have to point out that the worlds not so simple. Edited by: azrael
Its worked just fine for centuries. Oh I forget ... you want a utopia where we all love one another. What an assh*le of a society that would be. No ... your youth allows you to see things through rose tinted specs. When you get a little older, you understand that life simply doesnt function that way. Try living like an adult for a while. Jobs, taxes, bills ... ... being a student is about as easy as it gets fella. I should know ... I was one.
And who decides how the world works? People do. Because when you say world, you mean society. If you see aspiring to something better as a sign of naivity I think you need to seriously sort out the cynicism.
Yet again you've just come on to the forum to get people's backs up. Haven't you got anything better to do? nipple
Yes ... people. The general populace. Not you. And from what I can see, most people prefer scum locked up. Majority rules fella. But thats your idea of something better. This is what you always fail to understand. You think the world wants the same as you ... and quite clearly, it doesnt. Your failure to grasp this means you think the world is blind/wrong/stupid and you spend your time trying to educate it. Whereas you really should be getting on with your own life. Stop trying to change people, they obviously arent interested. Edited by: superden
Well as your the expert, what is my vision? Are you saying that freedom from any kind of tyranny is not progress in your eyes? Surely thats what your whole Iraq justification thing was about? As far as I was aware I was simply pointing out ways we`re getting unnecessarily screwed by the elite. I say unnecessary because it is we who let them get away with it. Where have you got this notion that its all about me? I`m not the only person in the world who sees this. PS Majority rule? b*llocks. If it were majority rule we wouldn`t have gone to war. What we have is an oligarchy. Edited by: azrael
Explain ? Do you have a national census to confirm your theory ? Hmmm ... a population of 60 million or so. 1 million people `marched` on London (and trashed McDonalds). Thats not a majority. BTW ... most countries are ruled by an oligarchy. A government is made of a few hundred people at the most in any democracy. All states are governed by `a few persons` ... which is an oligarchy yes. So long as they are elected ... thats also a democracy. Edited by: superden
I`m not b*tching. I`m simply putting my opinion across in a reasonable way. I just dont understand why he persists in posting on here.
I've just read through this thread and saw someone say that it was partly due to not being prepared for the flooding. But I heard on the news a couple of days before the hurricane hit that they were expecting flooding? So why wasn't aid ready? <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><O></O> Edited by: Monzadave
Monza - I think the hurricane was predicted but not the scale of it. Not very often you get 170mph winds, even in hurricane season! However, they would have been a LOT more prepared if they hadn't chucked most of the US budget into Vietnam mkII
what are new orleans folk moaning about? it's been raining all morning in surrey and theres a big puddle around my car
they knew they were protected up to only a category 3 hurricane, even though a cat5 has been predicted for some time.
Its quite easy to guage majority opinion when opinion polls suggest 80% want to pull out of Iraq ASAP and only 25% supported the war in the first place. No an oligarchy makes the decisions with no referral to the peoples wants or needs, a democracy involves a small number of people fighting for the causes of the everyday person. What do we have today? Perhaps you`d better open a history book and check out greek democracy. Not perfect but better than our watered down oligarchy. A democracy can only function (like a free market) in a state of perfect information....so no democracy here then. A democracy is rule by the people, for the people. Seeing as our leaders are not chosen from amongst the people but from amongst a pre-established elite sector of society WE DON`T HAVE A DEMOCRACY. Its quite simple, we have an oligarchy with a PR obsession. Your such a fool to deny what is happening right before your eyes. Edited by: azrael
