15's are the way to go. Dats what mine rides on. 77 fitted for two toyo's, which included balancing and 4 wheel tracking. Cheap as!

Slam the car and it will go handle like a lil Go-kart! I always thought 17's were too big for MK2's 16's are enough i reckon but they look best on 15's.

Tim_mk2> I know of a set of wheels for sale like Andy947's...Powertech D, 8x15 ET20 all round, and these ones are fully mirror-polished. No tyres on them tho, lmk if you are interested. They're approx 400....but they are like new!

Cos i dont like the look of debadged grilles, i think the best grille is the single headlamp badged grille with a black badge, subtle, but still proud to be a VW :)

And yeah i done all the work myself, still cost a damn fortune though. Would have been thousands more if i'd had to pay for all the labour though :p

It certainly was nice and shiney! [:^(]

I say nice wide 15"s should do the trick.

How about Borbet A's or something like that?

Tub, you test the structural integrity of VWs way too much dude. So do I, but I do minor panel damage. [:$]
