R32 has now arrived all sparkling and shiny in evil diamond black!
Not driven (apart from moving it about 25 yards up the road )it yet but gave the stereo a blast - Pretty decent and discovered how damn good the headlights are!
Managed to blag a few extra bits (heavy duty boot liner, full tank of fuel and 12,not 6 months tax) after some minor slip ups by City VW.
Better go and drive the thing now!
    :p :)

This may sound a bit poor but I don't have a digital camera!
53 reg ex demo with 5k miles.
Will try and post some if I can borrow one.
    Basically like Robs but black.
The full leather is great and the seats are SO supportive.
Had a bit of a play and it goes like f**k!!!
Sound is just awesome, it corners totally flat and not got anywhere near driving it "properly" yet.
    Well chuffed!

I find the lights disappointing; not in output but in spread. Being that main and dip are totally separate there is insufficient long range width to the beams when on main. The dip stays on it`s relatively short range and the main just blasts down the centre of the road.

Not ideal up here where there is no lighting on the majority of the roads I travel.

Incidently; although they automatically adjust their base position can be manually set. Mine were initially set too low.

James - Mine too low as well but sorted now.
Fairly vital quaetion that VW haven't conclusively answered yet - Does it need super unleaded or normal unleaded?
Even the manual (very cool BTW with R32 logo and nice steel R32 pen!) isn't 100% clear!
A Pug 205 GTi 1.9 had a go a couple of times off the lights last night. Guess what happened?!!

I would go super unleaded mate being a modern high perf engine. Dont know about the v6 engine but it did make a difference to the 1.8T in mi old s3 - the handbook said use it as well if possible.

    Nice car BTW. :)

Matt - does the fuel filler flap have a recommended octane rating inside on the sticker?

    Matt,

Its states you can use 95 RON or 98 RON Unleaded. I ran mine on Normal 95 for a couple of weeks, but have now changed to BP Ultimate (97 RON) and boy what a difference!

I would suggest high rated RON petrol when ever possible, but its not essential. The ECU changes setting to suit the fuel anyway. But the higher the rating, the smoother and better the performance ;)

Spoken to a VW big cheese and it's fine use 95 but it'll go better with 97/98 just as Rob said!
Another minor thing is that wife and I surf a lot - Old VW key went into wetsuit key pocket fine. Now it's two flashy plippers that cost 2-300 to replace (plus huge headaches) and aren't waterproof!
Best suggestion so far is to put it into a balloon - Which sounds vaguely sensible.
All these car companies spend millions marketing how hip and cool they are and then they miss out all watersports fanatics!

LOL: If thats the biggest issue you could come up with on an R32, then obviously the car is near damn perfection ;)

Rob - To be honest you're not far off!
How run in is yours now?
Like the nifty auto dip mirror - Neat touch.
One thing I'm dreading is replacing the tyres (no visible wear on mine yet) - 225/40s R18s Michelin Pilot Sports - Uh oh!!!

hehe - thats where I am quids in mate. I got the SMT package with VW. Which means all servicing, maintenance and TYRES are included for the three years of the lease [8D]

I will warn you now... the tyres are the same ones off my Anni, and you can expect them to be about 150 each. And the 4 motion will need 4 at a time[xx(]

BTW have done nearly 700miles, so still a bit of running in to do :p
