Do you really need to make it slide? Its not the best fixing and the whole point of a bucket seat is to keep you very secure if in an accident ......

Here's some pic's of some I made to fit my bucket seats recently. I started with corrado seat bases as they sit the lowest. I cut the **** out of them till they looked like this:

I then fitted them to the car set the height and tacked them in the middle of the t piece where you'll find it hinge's

Then I built a box frame to suit my bucket seats and had it all pro welded together by Garry at GM Bodycraft and viola!

Not pictured is the the refitting of the forward and backwards adjustment but its there, Height adjustment on the buckets is taken care of in the sidemounts.

Might be worth adding here, as of Jan 2012 now a MOT require for drivers seat to be slide adjustable, where they remember to check or not, who knows!

I would have thought this cannot apply retrospectively.

    Current rules :

Information Method of Inspection Reason for Rejection
    Seats Seats Seats
    Original Design
Original design characteristics and specialised modifications (e.g. to enable wheelchair access) are to be accepted. 3. Check the drivers and all passengers seats for security. 3. The security of the drivers or any passengers seat is significantly reduced
    4. Check that the backrests of all seats (front and rear) can be secured in their normal upright position. 4. A seat back that cannot be secured in the upright position.

    (captured for spotting future amends)

May be worth a separate thread, so may split later.

Here's what i did to my drivers seat, not the best pics but you get the idea. The passenger side is fixed though so no movement at all but i thought it would be handy to have if other people want to drive.
