    Just sliced it, pulled the fabric through, then glued it on the inner side of the card. I'd be adding a few layers of fibreglass and some roof flashing to the back if I was doing it. May as well make a good job of it.....

    Hmmm, not a bad idea that. Wonder how the join along the slice actually looks? I guess if you take your time the results could be quite good. Easier for sure.

    Rich, how long before we get a glorious example of the alternative from Blighty?

    Have you got the final result yet, some pics of it would be quality. Im up for doing this too.

    ok, finished!!!

    my only problem was the left hand side recess, as you can see, it didnt stretch far enough inside. i stuck it down anyway, but im going to fill in that section with fibreglass to build it up to a higher level. Ill practise on the drivers door first.


    Also need to find chrome / black strips to separate the blue / black sections....... [8D]

    Good work, shame about that last little bit, thats the sort of thing that'd really bug me. It really is excellent for Version 1.0 though, next one will look plush as!

    Whats that missing section where the pocket/speaker should be? You got a custom speaker housing down there? If its home made I'd be well up for having a peek, if you've got some snaps.

    halfords sell chrome strip ona roll rich git, wud do same job as VAG stuff.

    halfrauds sell chrome strips? excellent, might have to pop over to have a gander. Anyone at BVF tomorrow is welcome to come and look at the door, only one will be done though!

    ah, and the huge gap is a custom speaker pod, lemme upload a pic...

    They supply us with material to trim our stands and ring boxes.... just got sh!t loads to retrim my doors! 10 for a metre...... but its 2 metres wide![:D]
