not a lot to say really, had thought of a huge post but the pictures tell a thousand words, fcked off mostly as it was going up for sale this evening tw*t of a taxi driver ( who i found out later was doing a U turn in the farm access and not just pulling out) pulled out infront of me, no indication or looking, i wasn't speeding, not even for the conditions ( didn't have much fuel left anyway and trying to conserve what i had) as you can see my car is on the other side of the road trying to avoid the taxi, then i was just commited to bracing myself for impact, not sure if i let go of the steering wheel and held myself or held onto the wheel, either way just like Lewis Hamilton i took an almighty knock, never been so winded in my life, but the type that i could breath (thank fck for adrenaline!) but i wasn't catching my breath from it. btw the guy in the hivis jacket was a w*nker too, might have been looking out for my safety but don't get some one out of a car when you have no idea if they are ok or not. much longer story to be inserted here, but the short of it was i was then taken to the local hospital (Luton ) to be checked out, not entirely happy with chest pains and breathing. some scans, Xrays and checks and some 3 hrs later i was given the ok to leave. so much sh*t to sort out now RIP the polizei mobile, was so much fun turning heads in it and big up the Bedforshire fire brigade far more caring than the local police.
Damn. Commiserations for ya mate. Could have been much worse though. I only hope you don't get stung on the insurance - fingers crossed eh?
looks worse than you described, FFS pity I liked that motor I think you have him by the short & curlies, you just keep an eye on that bruised chest
such a shame mate, that was such a trick car now that its dead (RIP), do another one before someone steals the concept jaz
maybe its not that bad and the king's men can put it back together .... glad your alright, thats most important.
$hit bad luck man!! Hope you're alright, cars can come and go, sayin that i loved your car! Take care. Pete
well woken up stiff and sore as expected, chest pains are becoming better, but still have to take care on how i move, spent best part of an hour on the phone putting my claim in and chatting to folk about it all, one thing that really worries me, is ownership of the car, its going to be recovered to a place that isn't that near to me and one that i'm not entirely happy with, i would rather have it bought back to the garage in my village, that way i know where it is and things aren't going to go missing. like any mk1 owner there are lots of savagable parts on the car undamaged that i want to keep ( to sell if anything) now that little battle to ensue. i know if it was in the village i can break it and then send the shell to scrap. once it has been inspected, if it is anything like last time and they offer me 200 for the golf with out looking at it, there will be murders! think a quick word with my body shop guy is in need to see what CAT he can have on site.
Goodluck with the claim jon, know how tricky that can be, hope your better soon mate, and hunting for a replacement
shocking mate was a very cool car, as far as the fire brigade go, they always seem to be the ones who actualy care at crash sites! hope you find a equaly cool replacement!
