Adding twin 40's to a healthy Dx 1.8 (with 32mm chokes) will give you around 130-135bhp with a decent system and rolling road tune. Make sure you get 30-32 mm chokes otherwise the car will be flat top end. I ran this set up on my old Campaign Gti about 10 years ago and loved it - very torquey - 'bout 130lb/ft iirc - lovely noise but you will drop to around 25-26mpg I then swaped a 16V KR on 45's with lots of other bits - that was an animal
just spoke to a mechanic who does tunning and head work and he reconed that it would result in a drop in performance . getting lots of different opinions and now dont know what to do. basically i want faster acceleration, will i get it form fitting twin 40s to my car?
