I now have some new 17mm ball joints and wishbones which also come with new standard bushes already fitted, as the car will be road legal i may run it with these for now and see how it goes:

Finally managed to order a c spanner for the KW suspension YAY.

And ordered the 2 lower bolts i needed for the front suspension strut, can't believe how much those bolts cost that vw no longer make.

Started to fit the KW V3's today....

I started by replacing the old passenger side wishbone, I used higher rated bolts/nuts to attach the new ball joint to the end.

Anyway the main thing i had trouble with was getting the old eibach arb back onto the wishbone, it's on but not quite set on one corner of the bush at the moment (i also used stronger nuts on the bracket):

I also fitted the ball joint extender but i haven't flipped around the track rod end as i haven't been able to undo the large nut at the end [:x]....

I can't say i enjoyed the damn jobs so far....

Get the 3D40 on in soaking over night should do the trick. If that still doesent work get a heat gun on it

    They can be a bugger
I had to use heat and plenty of it to release one of my track rod ends recently
Which resulted in me having to buy new ones as they melted
They certainly test your patience sometimes these metal boxes

Finished replacing the drivers side today with some help from a friend so much easier... wishbone with bushes, ball joint, extender, top mount & fitted the KW V3.

I haven't touched the track rods for now.

Also on the camber bolt do you set it to half way adjustment, i think i set it to maximum....

Just the rear suspension to do next, any tips on jacking points away from the beam (any pics would be handy).

Update on how i did my battery box yesterday:

I replaced the battery earlier in this thread, i put the bigger battery on my mk3 & got a better suited one that was also a bit smaller...

Drilled 4 holes in the wheel well:

Checked the steel plate i used for the holes all lined up & the bolts went in:

Drilled 4 holes in the box using the plate & checked it all lined up:

Fitted 2 straps under the plate in the box:

Bolted it all to the floor with high tensile bolts/nuts then used some material to space the battery up away from the bolt heads & pulled the 2 straps tight:

Then took the clamp ends off the battery cables, cut them back to clean joints, threaded them through the lid and screwed back the battery clamps onto the cables:

Attached them onto the battery & locked the lid down:

    Job done.
