Here's the new car peeps - got it for 1750 in the end, in absolutely blinding condition.

Gotta change some things over from the old one but gonna wait a wi while for that.

it is proper tidy, can't believe it. Gave it a quick clean yesterday, just gotta do the big polish and everything somepoint. Could do with aircon with the leather in the heat over summer though! Bit of a sauna at the moment! Ah well, the V6 sounds so dam good!! Fuel kinda dissapears a bit quick though!!

I will post more pics soon.

Think it is just the angle of the drive and camera phone pic, rides perfect.

Camber will all be re-done when suspension and wheels changed over next weekend too.

Not had much experience yet, but first thoughts are all very good. Unfortunatley gotta use a work demo car for the next 3 days so gonna miss the beast. But long weekend coming up to take it for a good run!!

Handling is the main difference cause of the weight difference on the front end, but sure i will get used to it. Just feels so much better in every way, by far the best choice of my life.

was the suspension pretty sorted on your white gti then?

I drove a standard VR6 and after my standard valver it felt really understeery, but apparently once you have some better kit on there they handle loads better - as with any mk3 I suppose...

8v springs might be a bit soft for the VR6 front end, even if they're uprated. You could just try it and see though.

Great cars when they work, but they can get expensive when they go wrong.

yeah had uprated springs on the 8v, super stiff. So gonna try them on the VR anyway, no harm in trying. Think they should be alright though.

Just getting used to the whole power difference at the moment though. Absolutely love it.

Anyone know where i can get hold of a Haynes Manual or similar for the VR, preferably a downloadable version?

Haynes (apart from being sh*te) doesn't cover the VR.

Invest in a Bentley manual , well worth it

I don't bother with haynes manual any more - bought one but it stays in doors.

I find it confuses me where it is mainly wrong and as such Im better not being told the wrong way and just trying to work out the right way!!!!!

plus asking Q??'s on here is enough info for me
