6R4 Dymags come up on eBay from time to time (in various widths, esp forest versions), but IIRC, they are metric rims, making tyres a potential nightmare.

That would explain why all the recent images I find show Comp Mo's.

yep, with closer inspection and some image enhancement it looks like ET13 - looked too round to be a 3, and sometimes compo dont stamp em straight, but it does look like a 3 - they do stick out a long way

The eagle has landed, the decals are in the process of being approved - we're not far off...

Decal mock up done, ordered and they're en-route. The blue doesn't look right on here, but it will be the same as the VW racing blue.

BTW, this is maybe slightly in the wrong area now?? feel free to move if you feel necessary Mods.

Do you want it merged with your Members Motors thread, or put in Styling, Chassis/elsewhere?

Not much has happened on these really, decals arrived from www.supergraphicsf1.co.uk and were made to spec by Gareth there and are exceptional quality. Just waiting on finding someone to apply them for me when I get chance....

However, I'm stuck in a bit of a rut finding centre caps. Can any of you with the similar wheels see if any of yours have a part number etc??

The I/D of the centre bore is 70mm on the face side. If yours are the same - let me know please.

Centre caps may not be ideal - all motorsport wheels are minus them.

Compomotive's blue anodised centres transform an MO into a girly wheel at a stroke.

Simple plastic keep the muck out jobbies will suffice, I'm not doing bling.

Think I may have found something that'll fit the bill that cost me a fiver, so I've not lost much if it looks gash!

Need new road boots soon, so I'm going to put what's left of the Speedline's F1s on and ruin them at Anglesey on the 31st of October. The DZ03Gs can wait till next year when Dunlop get around to improving supply.

My compomotives came with an ugly centre cap which went straight in the bin, my Dad did the same with his centre caps for his as well :thumbd: I've used a set of black plastic vw logo caps that came off flea bay for about 2 quid, apparently they are off early steel wheeled vw's but I think the bore will be too small for yours

    Bit of an update.

Rubber is on, picked up some used track tyres for an offer I couldn't refuse and will ruin those for a couple of outings.

Leaving the decals for now as I don't want the tyre monkeys making a mess of them, so will apply when I pick up some DZ03Gs next year (when they get some decent sizes in the UK)

I'll try getting them on the car for a better idea this weekend, but for now

    ...

Nice. They do look OZ - the cast writing inside the spokes.

Watch out for the powerdercoat melting when the wheel bolt shoulders sit - ideally remove it. Time and again it results in loose wheel bolts on trackdays/races/rallies etc

Liking the VW OE wheel bags in the background! eBay?

I've managed to find out a bit more about them actually, Chris. They're an OZ Rally from the early '90's, only available from their motorsport catalogue. Used primarily as either a rally tarmac wheel or on touring cars.

When I spoke to OZ UK about getting some centre caps (none, so they're going sans..) they gave me a bit of brief info and said they hardly sold any back in the day due to the insane cost compared to the competition.

EDIT: Bags are ebay jobbies, don't offer him more than 20. The VW ones come in at more like 40 from Germany, so I couldn't see the benefit for the same bag without "VW" on it!

Thanks for the tip on the bolts too, I'll get the dremmel out later and think of something to seal the Mg with, otherwise it'll fluff up like crazy. Hmmm?
