If i happened to have a bonnet that didn't have holes on it for washer jets, what would i use, and how would i fit washer jets to the wiper arm?
could try mounting them in the scuttle panel? or like in the gap, between the bonnet and scuttle like on the mk4? tim
in a rally style? when you have a light weight bonnet and plactic tubes on the wiper arms?? Edited by: Tim_mk2
i raided a citroen for its washer back when i had my old driver (when it had a single wiper), just clips onto the arm. it was a pipe style washer that ran up one side of the arm and back down the other with a series of holes along its length. quite descrete and worked well too. i also mannaged to salvage a length of the rubber tubbing from the same citroen which led to the rear washer, just ran that through the bonnet/scuttle vents to the pump. cheap as too.
3 Series Compact Rear Arm has one attached to it all build in. i've seen a company adverising them for single wiper arms recently on the net. but cant remember who...
Got a new van at work, A new Iveco daily. It has a "thing" on the wiper, that squirts water on the screen. I am looking in to how or if this will fit. I will post info asap. if you see one arround have a look.
same on Iveco Cargo Piece of urine to fit by looks of it....Just clips on. Been thinking about this myself recently.
IMO The best way to do this would be to drill a hole right through the centre of the spindle and feed a water pipe up throuhg that. If i remember correctly the corrado has a hollow rear spindle that can be adapted in some way to do this - cant fo rhte life of me remember exactly how though
i have the mono sytyle porsche wiper system on my car with the washer jet pipe system on the arms. the supply tubing just passes through a couple of rubber grommits in the scuttle near to the spindle holes. i have had no problems with any of it. i would show a piccie but its dark and nasty out side
on my single wiper i have put a pug 405 washer arm on there and it clips straight onto the wiper only cost me about 10 from pug themselves too
From his post i would say he drilled the scuttle, and fitted a grommet. To avoid holes, drill the spindle and feed the pipe down that I always intended to do this, but never got round to it. Will do someday though
