G60 Matt has the right idea in fact, Volkswagen has
just copied him! The new TSI engine for the Mk 5
Golf GT, making its debut at the Frankfurt Show in a
couple of weeks, has a supercharger AND a turbo
and produces 170 PS (167 bhp) and 240 Nm from a
mere 1.4* FSI engine! I drove one at the test track at
Wolfsburg last week, for a report in the next issue of
Volkswagen Driver magazine and it is sensational!
Oh, and did I mention? it also returns an overall
    average of 39.2 mpg...

    * Yes, just 1390 cc !

I've had both turbo and just got my first g60 carrado and the turbo is probably the better option but the noise from the charger is ace and far better than a turbo. My advice be a man and get a charger.

As He Says da sound of a charger is just irresistable especially the mk2 Golf G60 [8-}][IMG][IMG], turbos sound like bags of bolts in comparison!!! but the turbo rush is far better, solution... combined!!!

believe it or not the G-ladder is very effective if serviced properly not only that but if you look at the newer chargers (Eaton etc.) these are as reliable asthe turbo.

hi all new to the forum current car is a 87 5 door gti PB lump on
digifart inj currently completely standard (apart from oodles of rust)
Begining restoration now and transplant soon...

My previous dub some 8 years ago was a g40 polo which i have to
admit i mis now still and you just cant grumble at a lader....

Although said that had a crappy old ford escort cabriolet rst and all
be it a ford the power from a turbo is hillarious for the serious power
got to be turbo with nos fogger....imo :) But omg the induction of
lader is so sexy.....voted turbo but,id love a vr6 twin lader
conversion if there is such a thing?
