I've just got a 6a to put in my MK2 and will be doing it in the next few weeks. I was thinking of getting a 4 branch manifold while i'm at it. Any recommendations on which ones are good? I was thinking of going for the one from TSR. cheers
I have a Magnex 4 branch manifold and system on my 9a golf. Seen magnex systems sl*gged of on here before but i have had no problems with it. Fitted fine and makes a nice noise when accelerating and is pretty quiet on the motorway. Don't know if it has made any difference to the engine as i have nothing to compare it with. Don't know if that helps any.
Im using the tsr one with no probs. They do sound a bit "tinny" at first but this can be prevented with heat wrap
Im also using the TSR manifold with Heat wrap. Ive also just had a flexipipe welded to the manifold to replace the normal round wire mesh seal (Kept leaking) Heat wrap is a must as it reduces soo much of the tinny noise. Fits nice and easy. The Supersprint manifold is VERY expensive and I think they are only for Left hand drive MK2 Dubs. The Magnex manifold apparently has a smaller bore size so reduces performance . . thats what Ive been told.
I have a Supersprint 4-2-1 on my car. Perhaps a tad pricey, but unrivalled quality & fit... The TSR 4-1 would be my choice on a Valver...
Does anyone know if Supersprint manifold 882601 is for a RHD car? (mk2 16v of course) Edited by: G_V_K
gary- i typed "supersprint" and that part number into google and came up with this click that part would seem to be for both mk2 and 3. whether its ok on a RHD or not is anyones guess, and at 400, i won't be taking that chance. also- i asked the supersprint rep at autosport last year, and he was pretty certain they didn't do one for a rhd mk2. I think the choice is down to the TSR one (made by Miltek) or the magnex. you have to buy the whole system with the Magnex though which is not very good. The other thing is they both only have 2" outlets. I had to modify mine to 2 1/2" to mate it up to the Supersprint race system
