OKay, whats the score with TV lines then?? What the hell is that all about? yes i guess its better quility etc etc How big a differance is there form the 420, 480 and 520 lines? leaning towards the dog cam pro kit, anyone else got it??
Go for the larger lenses, especially the ones with the zoom/vari focus. Much better picture quality and nicer to watch the footage. Dont expect camcorder quality images, for top gear type video your looking for 3000 cameras !
Just blagged it so that the misses get the dog cam for my birthday in march! I am planning on having the camera in the glove box all tucked away in a box in foam so its nice and secure, dogcam mounted inside the car. In a ideal work i love to have a button on the dash which i could turn record on and off. eg start of runs on the hill bet alot easier then p****** about pressing record on the camera. Plus I swear i have seen a set up like that somewhere but can i find it anyhow now!
Quick video of what a 'DogCam Pro 480' produces: Putfile link (with small compression and microphone inside the air vent next to the screen, so wind noise is quite loud)
okay about to order the camera, but just to add a spanner into the works i found this company and the kit they have looks pretty good? cameras4sports seems quite good, what do u guys think compared to the dog cam 480?? Dog Cam 480
advernture cameras Also if u use the code Aston you get 10 percent off Ordering my camera tomorrow! Edited by: mk1g60turbo
One thing not mentioned is frame rate? reaason i say is that i was digging out my old video camera for future use (a mates making a lead for the cigarette lighter) & iv'e noticed even though my older camera is about 4-6 times bigger than those funky hand digi camera's it has an option of recording 120/1000/4000 frames a second so any thoughts on this as i know the higher the frame rate the more light is required to enter the lense?
http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm Try above, its who I use for my bullet cams and stuff Complete Pack Package 3 is what I used at the Nurburgring last year on the club trip!! Excellent picture quality! Camcorder must have AV in to use their bullet cams Cheers David
Just picked up my camera... it's a Canon UC8Hi It has stereo sound recording. Optical Image Stabilizer. 20x zoom. Flexizone. 50/120/250/500/1000/2000/4000/10,000 shutter speed. & a lens thread that i can match up to my telephoto/wide angle lenses. & all for 30 http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/video/data/1993-1997/1995_uc8hi_s.html
So anyone tried their camera's with the high framerate options? I know on slow moving objects it can look choppy but i always loved the fast moving stuff like when they use them low down on the cars in the btcc (you can see every stone chucked up).
If anyone is interested i had a go at making a camera mount today: http://clubgti.com/forum/showpost.php?p=963867&postcount=200
ok, i have a wide angle lense but didn't have it fitted at the time, do you usually leave auto focus on too?
