A bit of a mixture of top setting and the next one down (depending on how many pics I was planning on taking at the time, using a 1GB card).

I did Combe, Oulton, and Knockhill using the new Energiser Lithiums, and took around 3000 pics, and they`re still going...

I also have Energiser rechargeables that have done several shows before packing up. Again over 2000 pics.

Neither were overly expensive, so made sense to me, though TBH I probably won`t bother buying the Lithiums again.

I only got them after seeing the advert where they say you can get hundreds more pics over standard batteries. I thought, `Well if I`m getting 2000+ on the rechargeables, how much will I get from these!?`...

Answer? Around the same, so may as well stick to the rechargeables...

that's why I like my nikon d40, it's a rechargable battery with a charger - replacements/spares are 20 each and they recharge fully in 90 minutes.

I've taken about 500 pics so far and it's still full, but I prefer recharging to having to buy new batteries each time.

I really like it. I bought the Sigma for the same reason, the Nikkor lenses were too expensive.

    Me myself, i have a:

Minolta Dynax5 with the usual affair of lenses kit lenses, (28-80 & 75-300 zooms)
100mm f/3.5 Cosina Macro lens w/a +4 closeup filter/lens for getting pretty darn close to things. I don't have the 1:1 adapter as i bought it used.
Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm f/1.4 and an adapter to fit it to the Minolta/Sony A-mount. Should be able to do some nice low light shots with that one methinks.

I also have a 1955 45mm f/3.5 Agfa Apotar, i use this in conjunction with a Leningrad-8 light meter. The Camera had a busted wind mechanism so i 'doctored' it and am using the first film up currently.

This is the rig with the MD lens and adapter.

    Canon 30D with;

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 mkII lens
Tamron SP AF17-35MM F/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical (IF) lens
    Canon 430EX Speedlite Flash
    Manfrotto 724B tripod

I would love to replace my Tamron with a Canon 17-40L and I'm in desperate need of a 70-200L F2.8, but I just can't justify the expense right now :(

    Couple of examples:

No shots of the MK2 yet as I've not had it long enough!

I'd have thought you'd have been out working in order to pay off the mortgage you must have taken out for that lot!

Very nice bit of kit indeed.

hmm, fancied a D90 myself Love the idea of its video abilities and there are some impressive video samples on Vimeo. However, read more than a couple of negative reviews about the camera :o think i'll hold back a while.
