It was Atlas 8v as I had an Atlas Grey 8v MK2 GTI and then got the VR and changed it to 12v accordingly...

Should really be Swartz 12v but who cares...

a lyric from a Doors song 'the end'. The 'blue bus' aparently drove around the beaches in the 60's selling acid in the summer.

Used it AGES ago for a hotmail account and its stuck.

I wanted to incorporate elements of both my name and my car. I chose Rick because it's what many people call me, it's a shortened version of Richard which is my name. I could have used Dick, but I find that faintly insulting and it would be asking for grief. The 16v refers to the number of valves, sixteen to be precise. Eight of these are inlet and eight are exhaust valves. Definitely sixteen there. I then added the Mk2 bit to hint subtly at the era of my car, the fact that it is a mark 2. Combine these three very distinct elements and you get Rick 16v Mk2.
With hindsight I would probably drop two of these elements, abbreviating my user name substantially to just one word. Maybe incorporating only the Rick bit, though I fear I would need to suffix that with some numerals as it is a fairly common name on forums. I might have tried Rick16v I suppose.
In conclusion then, I used my name and my car to formulate a suitable moniker by which I could be recognised. I felt these would enable people to both address me personally and know what sort of car I own. I feel this worked but I'm not really a fan of my username nowadays, it strikes me as being a bit cumbersome. I'm not concerned enough, however, to consider changing it. I think that would be ascribing too much importance to a title. A rose by any other name etc.
