[/IMG] Working in an small ofice about 300m's from my house today, seemed quick so I tried it, that's pretty nippy! If only I could get more than 2.3 at home...
Spare a thought for this fella: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/12/03/not_spot_diary/ In my recent emigration I've gone from a stable and barely contested LLU 10Mb connection to a poxy 2mb IP stream BT connection with massive contention. Will post real data once I get the laptop working again..
What a mentalist! thousands on sat dishes for superslow internet, running cables through fields, ****ing off the neighbours - sorry but the ones that blank him in the street and such are probably just scared of 'the crazy man with his interwebs'. If it's that important, MOVE HOUSE. Still funny read, even if I only understood half of it.
We recently moved to a pretty rural area, so cable isn't an option. Customer service is good, plus it's faster than expected and it's cheap, the best deal by far.
Finally after much complaint to Sky they finally sorted it!!! Not the fastest but far better than the 0.4meg they gave me when I first signed up!!
I was bored, what can I say, lol. Running slow tonight, I usually get over 50's from Holland (the Randers one)...
funky diver the sky installer with virgin broadband just moved, virgin upgraded me to 30MB package and cut some money off the price!!!
FTTC just been installed here: As it's a business line I get unlimited downloads between 6pm and 8am. Beats the barely 3 meg had before.
Jest ye not sir, I lived on the end of the telephone line on the top of Exmoor a while back and yes I had a 1m dish for satellite internet and 56k upload via the crappy, crackly, got-hit-by-lightning-more-times-than-than-I-can-remember telephone line. The fun of VPN over a dial up and sat download was frustrating! Fun times and being into radio myself there were a few yagis in the garden in a vain attempt to close in on any signal
So that (^^^^) was way back in December, and I didn`t get anymore than that due to Indian call centre incompetence, and several faults in the area, and some profile restriction malarky that I have no understanding of. In total I`m on my third hub and modem, the aerial cable from my house to the telegraph pole across the road has been replaced, the pole itself is new, and the cable back to the cabinet has been renewed. So today the 6th engineer in as many weeks has been and now everything has been reset and running at full chat! We`ll see how long it lasts though...3 months of total inconsistancy leaves me with zero confidence...
Where's the peasant living in the past smilie... [:^(] There's a new box at the end of the street next to the old one and they've dug up half the streets to it installing something (the signs said installing fibre or something) but that's all we've got so far the slack jawed faggots... It says on BT's site I'll have 1.5meg in June from the supposed 1 it is now...
