So the 2.5" system is the one to go for with an R32?

Decided i'm going for the 2 box, will get a 3rd box if it's too noisy. My friends MX-5 passes 88db limits with a single box but with cat installed, so I guess mine will be somewhere near with the 2 box and decat. We'll see!

    Today @ Bedford Autodrome

MK2 ABF with 2 box 2.5" Jetex was 94dB static and never black flagged as it will have fallen below the 87dB drive by checks

That's good to know Ben, thank you! I have gone for the 2 box also and it was delivered last week, looks to be a really nice bit of kit.

Where do I need to put the hole for the lambda sensor then? I am running Mk3 downpipe and as I understand the Jetex will mount straight to this so I do not need to run the decat pipe I have (which has hole installed)

    Cheers

  7. Hi all,

Have been reading this with interest and looking to change my system from the Magnex Stainless system currently in use.
General census seems to be Jetex though to throw something out there has anyone any experience of using the Ashley competion system? Have used Ashley previous projects but not on a valver also mine is an ABF with the KR head.
    Thoughts/opinions appreciated.

    Matt

My thread in members motors shows a suggested position for the lambda sensor. In the "1" of the 4-2-1, the collector of the downpipe.

I went with the 3box in the end and glad I did, nice hum off it but not too loud.

Have a TSR/ABF fourbranch to go on aswell, I wonder will the sound change much with this on?

My 2 box with 4 branch sound nice, loud but im not bothered as its a toy car not a daily, Really nice metallic ring to it on idle and nice deep burble [:D]

Can't wait to hear it with the 4branch, just waiting on some gaskets!

Do you think the 4branch made much of a difference to the way it drives?

I haven't driven it yet unfortunately, still finishing a few bits off. I haven't driven it with std ABF and no 4 branch either so wouldnt really be able to comment. I think it will be rather nice though [:D]

I have just fitted a TSR 4 branch with a second hand milltek system. Sounds nice on idle, around town and nice on open throttle but cruising at 75-80 it is very boomy. Fitment is poor too.

I'm thinking of changing the system to a new 3 box jetex system as i thought would be less boomy on the motorway. What do you guys think?
