    Nowhere near F1's.

Wear very fast, aweful in the wet/damp.

Very good in totally dry conditions.

Need some new tyres too, been looking for ages but can't find the right ones. Heard a lot about toyo but how are they for comfort? Need something smooth and comfy without giving bad handling.

    Cheers for the replies.

    Get Toyo T1-R's

Only a couple of quid more than A539's and better tyre if the T1S is anything to go by.

i wasn't impressed at all with yoko 539's.

i only use uniroyal rallye540's now...i love them, especially at this time of year. shame my vr6 is off the road at mo (at bodyshop), and i have to use my cheapo mkII gti which has some very cheap cr*p on it.

Best tyres for me so far are Toyo Proxes T1-S. They don't last that long though.

    2nd: Eagle F1's
3rd: Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Positions

found the 539's to be very good in the dry. as stated by others, not too good in the wet. i'm a very careful driver in the wet though so not a problem for me. used the 539's on track and they do hold up well. for that money, buy them. unless you like racing in wet weather conditions, putting the lives and property of the public at risk, that is.

i had 539's all round on my mk1 and i needed new fronts so i bought some f1's and quite frankly for the extra bit of money ( 539's 45 and the f1's 55) there is absolutely no comparison. the wet grip on the f1's is outstanding , to the point that i lost the back end a couple of times which are still shod in 539 rubber .
