But i know notenoughtime and i know what he's like just buying stuff for the sake of buying stuff, i had to ask because he has that many vehicles.
only ten jeez I'm on twenty (I must have a problem) mind you one is going for scrap shortly, then again one more turning up in just over a week think i'd better sell a few. I like your progress, looking forward to seeing it completed
Just a couple of pics to tease you Every time I open the bonnet I smile as I think it looks lovey! I need to sort the slam panel yet! Roof and rear quarters where flat and polished today
The seats arrived today and I'm well impressed! Unfortunately my side mounts don't fit which I was going to weld onto bar welded in between tunnel and inner sill! So will be a change of plan I guess!
Tail gate on, had to be repainted as had a run in the paint that couldn't be flatted out! Think I'll get some new plates though 20 new clips for the gutter moldings arrived today, so got those on
I also looked into renewing my national b licence as think this needs to be used on a hillclimb or sprint
Pick this up this morning Need to cut the seat mount out now and get seat mount welded in to floor and then weld cage in on some fabricated floor mounts with extra door bars and harness fixings
Seems to fit in quite square I can add a few extra bits here and there! Got the seat in for mock up and steering wheel was a mile off then remembered I had the OMP Steering wheel to go on!
Also notice the crap welded plate in the drivers floor! Something that needs sorting as the roof bars as a pigeon obviously has been in there!!!!
I've been reading a bit about chassis mounted engine mounts, what are people's thoughts? So two chassis mounts and dog bone rear mount as per mk1
I am doing a PD conversion in a mk1 caddy, i have used the mk4 mounts including the standard mk4 dogbone arrangement which i have managed to fit in with a fair bit of fab. My reasoning is to isolate vibrations using the mounts that were designed for the engine, still untested and i have no other experience of such a swap but i dont like the idea of the offset that the other "of the shelf" mounts have. The offset increases the effect of any displacement. Additionally, the timing belt cover may remain intact and i have the centre of gravity closer to centre between the driving wheels. I have found one suitable long shaft and need a custom short one.
