I remember this thread!! I'm sure there's plenty of us on here that would gladly show Mr Creswell what a real 2.0 16v goes like - I'm a bit far away though

 

P.S. I also remember from a Golf mag him saying C&R had built a !!2.2!! 16v on throttle bodies and it wouldn't make more than 200bhp (after a guy asked about big power from the valver lump).

It must have been running a 1.8 16v PL code inlet cam ... although, I think it's more likely that he just has no idea what he's doing.

I've not driven a modified 16v from another manufacturer (like the 20XE or GTi6 mill), but both engines, in standard trim, are certainly no better than a healthy ABF. What a kn0b

 

He bought the R32...and that's the last we saw of him. LMAO
