Fit the smaller 1 back on and enjoy the power! I went from small to big and back to small and it difenitly felt better

I think its a lot down to how you drive tbh, if you rev the nuts off the engine all the time you'll like the 50mm better. I've heard of people fitting the smaller inlets and being dissapointed as it holds it back at higher revs.

I think i might get the CO checked and possibly get it on the rollers to see exactly what is going on!

Had it on the rollers last month with the smallest inlet and got just over 181 BHP and 155.8 lbft torque, so it would be good to see if there is anymore to come up top with the 50mm inlet!

The smoothness of power delivery at the moment with the 50mm inlet is really noticable

Thers 3 sizes tho (people always state them wrong) but they are something like 42mm,44.5mm and 50mm
Im using the inbetween one which you would of thought gives you the best of both worlds!

50mm. AFAIK, it was only the early models that had the smaller manifold, not 100% sure on that though.

it's way more complicated than just the diameter of the runners, the 50mm is designed for the 1.8, and seems to not work so well on 2.0s, however Tubs has a 50mm on his 2.0 and it has loads of torque

now that i thought about it, when i had the 42mm intake, i got the crap out of my brother civc VTI (160hp
) but after the swap, i just get along with him till 3rd, and after that, he drives away...
i never got the car tuned up, but could the 50mm intake rob me so much power?!

Oh yeah 181 BHP and 155lb ft was with the smallest inlet manifold there is - 42mm? (lower part ported though ;) )

So i'm thinking of either seeing what the CO is with the 50mm inlet on or just putting the old one back on!!

Thats what i was thinking - try and get the final verdict on the manifold size topic ;)

Well the verdict for someone with the same engine spec anyway!

my old one looks like that with the small raised part on runner no.1.

That the 41mm inlet manifold then?

you have to remember your assessment is subjective - what feels faster/slower isn't necessarily slow.

you may have moved a torque peak (and more than likely an adjoining dip) lower down the curve where you will feel it more further up where it won't be so easily noticed and won't be such a peak. The torque delivery is probably more linear now.

PL engine has 41mm inlet that was sold in US so the demand for 50mm (euro inlets) are more over there than here.
    Especially when polished ;)
