See how much your engine rocks back and forward when running, under hard acceleration and engine braking it can move a fair bit back and forward, As the 4 branch has longer manifold downpipes these can flex and over time will lead to stress fractures in the stainless tubing and more than likely work the manifolds bolts loose. I had this problem on a mk2 16v scirocco, couldn't work out why i had to tighten the manifold bolts every week, until i grabbed the engine and managed to rock it back and forward - new engine mounts all round and it was sorted.
I've used special heat-wrap material to insulate the car from the heat of the exhaust, and also it's supposed to offset around a couple of bhp of losses usually associated with the cooling of exhaust gases at the manifold (keeping the gas density low). I'm running stock front engine mount but vibratechnics rear mount.
My personal experience of TSR is that they offer very good customer service. They will reply to emails asap but as the guys there are always busy you are better off picking up phone for quickest response.Rob is the main contact there for any queries.
We have got back to you I have said I am waiting for a response from Milltek we don't stock them seperately generally although I am trying to get some in for stock to save this happening again, have been told will get a answer in a few minutes.
yea i posted that before then. sorry for being a pain just want them as soon as. cheers for letting me know
thanks TSR! unfortunely milltek wernt geting back to TSR with my bolts and gasket so they nicely took them out of one of there manifolds to give to me. thank you again
dose any one have a pic of how close there manifold sits to the steering rack because my one is like on it.
Just for the record I have a spare connector pipe which came with an 8v miltek exhaust as the seller had already parted with the manifold - no bolts though. This seems the best place to mention as it's a bit random for the For Sale thread. Sorry for thread jack
