having my car sprayed in a few weeks and the rear panel needs doing, and im trying to decide whether i want to debadge it or not. years ago i had a car debadged on the rear and it looked great, put on some mk4 style badges. but these days i like having vw displayed ive gone out of my way to get a rallye grill with a badge on, but the rear is different and can make a car look so much neater without badges.

anyone have any pics of bagless rear ends on golfs and such?

what are peoples oppinions? i know its all down to me but im interested in what people think

    cheers

The only badge on the back that looks nice is the VW badge in the center of the boot.

Without that imo the car looks empty, but its your call!

Debadge it, you can always stick badges back on a flat panel if you change your mind:thumbup:

Mine. I de-badged it, then put on a modified MG badge. It was a Union Jack and a chequered flag. Using some touch-up paints, I turned the chequered flag into a German flag. Something a bit different from the norm. On the other side is a Pipewerx badge (they did my exhaust).

got the same dilema myself, i actually went out of my way to get a vr6 grill badge then sprayed it black so its kinda there if your looking for it, but im undecided on the rears plus dont know if mk3's are pin badges or stuck on havn't really been arsed to do anything about it yet as i said still undecided so a photo shop might be the way to go

yep, the mk3 badges are attatched with whacking great pins so i had to fill and paint etc, the mk4 ones just peel off (that would have saved a lot of time!)

we don't need no stinkin' badgees

i de-badged too only got my car back from the painters last week - this way if i want badges on i can just break the little tabs off and use sticky tape instead.

VW badge that used to be there might be more of an issue - but without the badges and my rear wiper aswell i think it looks so much cleaner that it did before.

of course this is just my own personal taste but if it feels good do it!

    Shave It!

I would say shave the car. But thats just me. Besides, ladies always likes a man who knows how to shave! :p . But if you take out the front badge make sure you fill in the hood notch. I cant stand cars with notches and no vw signs.

De-baging is for fags with crappy models they are trying to pass off as better ones.

    Scene tax rises to 4%.

I buy VW's because they are VW's so I'm not ashamed of the badges. [:$]

Hmm my G60 is hardly crappy mate

Maybe you can't afford to get your car debadged hence leaving them on ;)
