Has anyone decided which way this is going yet?

I'm going down the Blu-Ray route as I've got a PS3, but can I f*ck find any decent films for it!

I want Transformers, but it doesn't seem to be available?

Am I better off just renting them for the time being?

Y' can download transformers in HD but not Blu ray yet.
Doesn't bother me for movies, I'll download either format but I'm going PS3 for the games.

Its not just a case of someone deciding which way it goes. I think they will both be around for a long time yet, and then eventually both will be replaced by 1440p and so on...

Ive been buying Bluray DVD's mainly because i have a 1080p TV, so thought i might aswell get the best out of it. Also because i have a PS3, so it would be a waste of money to buy an HD DVD player aswell.

I want to get a Bluray drive for my PC so i can hire the films and copy them to save money!

You cant get Transformers on Blu-Ray. :)

I chose HD-DVD due to having an Xbox 360. A lot of movies are coming out on both, but certain distributors/studios have chosen one format over the other.

To prove the point that HD and Blu Ray are both a waste of money.

You can have Film X but not Film Y as they are from different studios so on different formats but you can't play half here as they are Region 1 only not 2 so you can't buy half the stuff you want and the half of that you can buy is no good due to retard policies on piracy. :)

what's the point of blue ray on a laptop, the screen isn't big enough to make it worthwhile?

They have a HDMI output to connect to TV so you can use them as a media station.

A laptop screen will probably have a better resolution than most peoples TVs!!

My 3 year old HP is 1600x1200 so modern ones must be even better.

I use my laptop to output to a projector, so theres a use also.

Not that i know of. I just plugged in the 50" plasma and had full 1080p straight off, Just need to set the res on it.

Not got any HD material to try. Need some cheap blu-ray movies.

Im setting up windows media centre on it at the moment so have a selection of movies, music and pictures. Also the complete set of Red Dwarf to watch on it[:D]
