1272cc engine is an interference engine - hence bent valves.

 

but his is a 1600?

So let me get this straight from the start:-

It was originally a GTI, the engine died so you paid to have an expensive G60 conversion done. The G60 engine died so you sold it for peanuts and had the original 1.6TX engine fitted back in (even though it was apparently a GTI). Then you screwed the timing on a non-interference engine (the 1.6) and bent all the valves. Although the pictures you have posted clearly indicate that the engine you have fitted is a 1272cc engine which is an interference type engine.

Ok, now im confused!!

Fer fek sake now im confused, You now say its a 1.6
but at the start of this post you state its a 1.3L Then
you try telling other people there full of poo. then you
go on to say you got a mate with a 1.3 polo that can
whip standard gti's
