I've made some progress. I replaced the newer injectors with the original old ones which I think were leaking. Gave the car a run, left it for 25mins, and it fired up fine.

So...this suggests the newer injectors that I fitted were causing the problems. Could they be fine andthat something else is affecting the injectors?

Thanks, but the first link isn't really relevant, and second link is just an archive of more links...

Before I go out and buy brand new ones, I want to check if there is anything that could cause the injectors to not work properly for start up.

It only happens when its warm and has been sat for 10mins+

they could be gummed up or something

you can direct each one into a jam and bridge the fuel pump , look at each inj spray...should be a cone shape spray not a squirt , once shut off they should stop and not dribble

Just trying to do this now and I can't seem to get them to spray at all. Not sure if I'm doing it right.

Have bridged relay 12 across points 30 and 87. Ignition on and manually lifting the flap whilst the injectors are out and in jars.

I don't understand why the car idles fine, fires up fine when cold and on immediate restarts, but won't when its been sat for 10mins+. Though its fine with the old injectors (which were leaking though).

Eugh, I was bridging the wrong relay! Right, fuel pump is running and the injectors are spraying fine.

Have also cleaned the the flap and plunger pin so you can definitely free the plunger pin drop.

    The result: no change.

New(ish) injectors are still causing it to start badly when warm. Old injectors are fine but leak.

    Any idea's?

have you checked new(ish) injectors for leaks? If they don't leak, I mostly think you may have another problem (like fuel accumulator it seems..).

I will PM you about an injectors question :)

if the old injectors are leaking and it starts fine, perhaps its setup too lean or there isnt enough pressure, if a few drips of fuel in the bores helps it go thats what I'd be thinking of anyway. try some easy start in there with the old injectors, if that gets it going then its looking more like a fuel deleivery/mixture problem when warm

Right, I have just replaced the accumulator and the hot start problems are FIXED. It's not a brand new one, but its doing the job just fine.

    Told ya [:^:]
Don't worry about it being new, at least you found the problem.
They either work or they don't, so if you got a working one then leave it.

Ok, so my car isn't fixed. After fitting the used accumulator, hot starts were better but then the problem reoccured. It's basically back to how it was. Even cold starts (hot weather) are prooving difficult?!

Now, could be down to fitting a dudd accumulator, who should I be looking elsewhere?

I'm not helping you guys by having two threads running with the same (or similar) story!

yes pinch the pipe behind the fuel pump housing at the rubber bit

So with the engine on, I pinch this pipe rather than the gauge-WUR pipe? Engine off and watch the pressure gauge?

Stupid question - "control pressure reg" refers to the accumulator? What about "system pressure reg"?
