    Hi All,

We've got some stainless steel Mk2 back boxes on the way, a complete replica of the original VW item, but made in stainless steel (including the internals) manufactured in the UK, and offered with a lifetime warranty, the initial run will be for the 8v GTI, but if you've got a 16v, then let us know and if we see enough interest then we'll get them done too.

No pictures as yet, but if you imagine a standard backbox, then imagine it shiny (forever), that's what we're talking about.

Pricewise, we're aiming to have these retailing around the 200 mark.

If you're interested, put your name down below (you're not committing to buy, just letting us know you're interested, that's all!)

    Cheers,

    James

Thats something I would be interested in if I was in the market for a new backbox for my 8v, will they be similar noise levels to oem or can that not be confirmed yet?

I know others who would be interested depending on noise levels

noise will be slightly different as stainless steel always produces a slightly different sound, but the aim is to keep them as close to OE as possible, they'll be baffled boxes as opposed to straight through. I'll add the 16v onto the list

Hi, do you know how soon these will be available? My 16v backbox needs replacing now. I may be able to patch it up for a while.
Can you suggest alternatives? I'd like to stay as close to OEM as possible.
    Thanks

I would be interested I one. Would it be possible to specify 2.5 inch bore pipe? Would think people with engine conversions would be interested in these.

I'll find out time scales for you

It's something we'd look into in the future, I for one would be interested in a 2.5" version

I may be interested in a 2.5" bore 16v one. If the price was right! I think 200 for only a backbox is a little steep.

Exactly the same sentiments here, if a backbox only is looking to be 200, a whole system (hopefully including downpipe?) would be serious money...

Would def be interested and would buy one if the price is right.

it's still happening, albeit slower than I would like (the VW Classic Parts thing has somewhat taken over the last week or so) we should have the prototype with us fairly soon

1st prototype is on it's way to us very soon, getting it to sound the same as the OE one has been the challenge!

    Hi James!

I would definitely be interested in a OEM stainless back box for my 8 valve gti, however I agree with some of the others that have replied in that 200 is very expensive just for a back box!!:o

A whole oem system in stainless would be great, but only at a reasonable price!!

    Cheers Alpenweiss2
