    wow....that is harsh!
imo though either you have been very unlucky and mistaken for someone else, or you know exactly who did it, and why. That is not a random thing.

Obviously I don't know exactly who done it but there is only one person I can think of who isn't very happy with me. If you knew why they wasn't happy it still doesn't come anywhere close to warranting this being done to my car....

Just checked this out with the other half, first thing she said its must has been personal if they went for every panel on the can and not a random thing. She also said probably either something to do with drugs (im not implying anything, it the reason why it usually happen up here) or a woman.

Personally the cost of a respray you might be better off finding another car to use the shell and to put your engine into ? ? ?

I've got some panels on the way in the right colour so the amount of painting to be done will be kept to a minimum to keep costs down.

Oh, I've decided whatever happens I'm keeping the car. Well, the engine and all other bits on it if not the actual shell...depends what happens.

Have you stopped stuff from rusting yet?

If you can get most of the panels replaced then technically you wont have to spray too much.....

Still may be worth just finding another shell and transfering everything accross although that is an effort.

The car has now been moved from my house and put in a safe place, I've cleaned all the paint stripper off and dried the areas before covering them with grease for now to stop any condensation getting into them. I've also put a cover on it to make sure no water can get onto it....with some sheets under that to draw away any moisture that might get in.

I've got some enquiries going on with regards to getting the shell painted so I can just bolt the other bits on, I know the match won't be perfect but I can still get the panels done after if it looks too bad.

If the paint idea falls flat on it's face then I will just find another car to transplant all the good bits over...engine, suspension, brakes etc..bit of a ball ache but it still means I'll have a quick(ish) mk2 so I don't mind..

..Bad news, and the reason they do it is obvious - it pi**es you off, and the police cant, or wont do jack about it - dont speed though, or they'll have you. Used to live in Banbury Daz - up Hanwell fields, and never had any trouble..me personally thinks it was kids f**king around vandalising..anyone else would have wanted you to know who it was I'm sure...at the end of the day, hope all goes well - and chin up!

Hanwell Fields was built right next to where I live...no farm there anymore...

I'm 99% sure who is behind it but the police can't do anything without proof so I'm stuffed. Still, the car will be back...just not yet...

    Thats really bad news mate.

There's some absolute t*ssers out there, ufortunatley my cars aren't garaged either, had the tyres flattened on several occasions but never anything this bad, feel for you.

Live near a notorious estate in Plymouth, on walking route home from local pub - my curtains are always twitching when I hear them coming up the road!
