i have been quoted: for the following jobs:

    full respray in oak green
number plate plinth removed in favour of metal plate
rear arches repared (v rusty) - also any other rust (around the windows theres some)
    debadged

1400 as the first quote then i went 20secs up the road and asked the other place

    800

they just laughed when they looked at it, where a mr pettsy has resprayed it very badly, hammerite jokes were made - wouldve been a fair chunk cheaper if it werent for this and the rust...

Thats not bad. I wonder how much mine will cost, doing debadging and stuff myself, may need skimming though, all windows will be removed and engine, arch trims etc, no interior.

So what would you have done if you had knocked someone down? Just because someone didnt come and see your car thats no reason to drive without insurance. Just think of when you do get insurance and somebody (with no insurance) crashes into you. You get no money and it comes out of your own pocket.
    Not right and not clever.

I have driven also with no tax, mot and insurance many times, i'm a criminal mastermind so call the FBI (but say no more about it in this thread).

I would sell the golf and the jetta and buy a proper 90 spec oak green, it will be newer, cheaper, worth more to sell on, not been stood for 2 years, the list goes on......

my vr is going into the body shop in a couple of weeks for a full shoot, just keeping it the same metallic black, im supplying a new windscreen & 2 new front wings for them to fit & they have said it will between 450 & 500, but thats a good deal to me as iv had a couple of cars painted there & i plugged them in my magazine feature

Probably not the smartest move to advertise the fact that you drive without insurance when you have your cars reg on display and people are also aware of the area you live in.

I've only driven without insurance once and that was moving my car out of the driveway onto the road and back in. Lol that was enough for me and I did it in the middle of the night so no one could get into bother with it lol. Never again hehe tbh imo i think everyone SHOULD have insurance the rest of us pay it so why do some people think they can get away without having to pay it. I wanna be safe in the knowledge that if some fool plows into the side of me they have cover and can sort out the damage instead of... "Oops sorry mate i dont have insurance (he drives off) (I'm stood standing with a written off car which I can't afford to fix on my TPFT)"

And btw I had to move my car outa the drive to get to the bins the day b4 I got my insurance cover through lol :p
