Well it was actually just a poll for my benefit. I`m looking at two albums right now. And cant be bothered to make up my own mind.
Chilis up to and probably including Blood Sugar blah blah were good after that they suck really badly. RATM got a bit weak in later life too. Play the early ones back to back and enjoy!
Rage Against the Machine (the album) must be compared to Blood Sugar Sex Magic, to be fair. Both are quality albums, but the Rage album was nothing short of evolutionary for the metal/hiphop/rap cross-over concept, and is easily one of the most inspirational albums to come out of the '90s. Limp Bizkit, Korn and all those other new metal bands all owe their success to that one album. Even The Prodigy's Music for the Jilted Generation was heavily inspired by Rage's self titled debut, as Liam Howlett has mentioned in numerous interviews. Obviously the Chili's are much more versatile as a band and have produced way more material than Rage have, but 80% of it is cr@p, imo anyway. Both RATM and Jilted are in my top 10 all time favourite albums btw.
In the end, a decision wasnt reached. I am now listening to Seal and Adamski. To be followed by some Simple Minds. Edited by: superden
The answer is clearly in the band name Im listening to Broken Social Scene and then the new Belle and Sebastian album (not due til March )
Seal and Adamski? Adamski's "Liveandirect" was BRILLIANT! But the later stuff (including that Dr Adamskis pharmacy or whtever it was called) is utter tripe, INCLUDING Killer.
You can say what you like about Adamskis Musical Pharmacy Darren. But do not abuse the musical masterpiece that is Killer. Edited by: superden
rage are quite good actually, never heard em before it's the song from the matrix!!! wake up chillis are good as well though
RATM are awesome. I was never really into guitar-based music when I was younger, and it wasn't until I saw the Matrix and got the soundtrack that I realised who RATM were and what I'd missed! "WAAAAKKEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Had that as the sound for the alarm on my phone for AGES Although I do remember years ago (about '97?) being in the Krazy House in Liverpool for New Years eve, and being part of a massive conga-line to "F*CK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME", very surreal
Ah the Krazy house. I was there in 97 New Year I think! I went there weekly for about 5 years! Now its the Rock city I frequent.
