what do people think of them?

I've been offered a mk1 storm in black wit hfull leather for 800.

I'm just about to get my mk1 Golf resprayed so I was wondering if this would make a good runaround? Or I could even sell the mk1 Golf and have a 16v scirroco mk1.

Do they have the GTi engine?? are they the same handling and stuff as a golf??

There's no black MK1 Storm.

It's dog poo brown. :)

"Gli, which becomes the Gti in 1980 and the Storm, all have EG coded, 1600cc fuel injected engine, most with 5 speeds, Storm has leather interior, storm badge on hatch and front fibreglass spoiler."

a high-specification limited-edition version, which was marketed as the Scirocco Storm. At first it was offered in two metallic colours, silver green or black, with black and fawn hide upholstery, respectively. Then, when the storm was reintroduced in 1981, the colour choices for the exterior became silver blue or brown, and for the hide upholstery blue or tan.

800 sounds alright then dont it. I'm gonna give him a call tomorrow. it's in storage at the mo and if its anything like his mk1 golf it'll be mint.

all it will take is some decent rims and lowering springs and i think it'd be awesome.

bar the usual mk1 rust what should i look for??

yes 800 sounds ok, obviously its totally dependant on condition

engine is the same mk1 golf 1600 gti engine, chassis is pretty much identical to the mk1 golf, so basically rust, rust, rust but also be aware of any missing trim, and damaged pannels as bits are really quite hard to get hold of.

also if it is an early black one I have to say take good care of it as there pretty damn rare [8D]

oh and make sure you get PICS!! [:D]

they are slightly lighter than a golf, I haven't driven mine yet [:$] as it got stripped down pretty much as soon as I got it and I'm still working on the resto, but I hear they are as good if not better than mk1 golfs to drive [:D]
