    Last DVD - Transformers the Movie - great film with an arse-clenchingly cheesy 80's soundtrack :thumbup:

    Last cinema - I think it was War of the Worlds, dark, darker, even darker, oh poo we've run out of time, everyones home. And Staines cinema is the loudest on the planet.

    Moby Dick - a freebie with the newspaper. Really cool film.

    (I got a bit worried about them killing the whales, but I read afterwards that they weren't real, so that makes it OK :) )

    (On DVD) Appleseed: New anime filmfromthe maker of Ghost in the shell. stunning vistuals using a mixture of computer generated backgrounds and very well animated charaters. With excelent action scenes and a very interesting storyline, the film is a must see for any anime fan, and would be a great into for those new to jap animation. 9/10.

    Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy........

    Having read the book(s) ages ago and watched the original TV series (when it was first aired [:$] ) and recentley read it again.I was looking forward to seeing this very much as I thought 21st century CGI etc. would have done it justice.
    How wrong could I have been [:v:] ,storyline was twisted to fulfill Hollywood formula b/s and felt as though the writer had sold out just to earn his retirement fund.
    Even Marvin was too cheery for my likings.
    Although some efforts were made to keep the original idea I don`t think that it worked too well and as a film on its own(ie.if you had no knowledge of books etc.) it wasn`t very good.
    Dissapointed [:v:] 3/10

    Seconded.

    Last film I watched;

    Todal Recall.

    Classic 80s Sci Fi from when the Austrian Oak could do no wrong. Great story although the sfx look a little dated now. Featuring the filthy Sharon Stone and that bloke who played all the bad guys in 80s movies (except he was also the Captain in Beverly Hills Cop (get the f**k outta here!!) I think). Also responsible for my all time favoutite Arnie quote - "if I`m not me den who da hell am I?" :lol:

    Sin City - DVD

    had only really heard the name before, and not much else. Watched the film, watched the *making of* extras, and it really is the most impressive mainstream "comic book" conversion to film i've ever seen.

    9+/10 - some people won't get on with the use of colour/B&W, but i loved it.
