I've got a Weichers one to fit in my Polo. Hopefully fitted in a few weeks time.
I've got the the 6-point one with the "long" rear half in chromo4. Does not weigh more than 3-5 kgs more than my mates alloy Wiechers cage.

The extra A-pillar tubes were mnadated by the MSA from 2004 onwards if I recall. But otherwise there's quite a lot of extra tubing in there - hope some of it's lighter gauge [:s]

chris mine is being built by racing developments in milton keynes http://www.racingdevelopments.com/ its a basic 6 point weld in cage, but it will have double diagonal door bars, diagonals between the rear mounts, rear brace welded in, front bar in front of me, etc.

900 is the price for a decent 6 point setup, the guy can go even bigger and better if needs be.

i'm getting mine back week after next so will get some piccies up

To be honest, it's for forest rallying in quite brutal environment (extra rare cage weld points are same points for rear axle) . And from last roll (8 somersaults over timber pile) I don't prise those few kg's more than my own head :)

just spoke to roll centre. they said they dont do an off the shelf cage and the only way to do it would be to drop it off and them to bespoke make and fit a cage.

Yep - fair enough. I've looked at each brace you've gotin the rear, and each one looks 'right', picking up up suspension mountings, rear axle front mounts etc. I'd ideally put most of what you've got in my car.. I just fall into the weight dilemma

Where did you get that quote from?

What do you mean by hoop brace? A brace between the B pillars?

Does anyone know if you can get Harness bars for the weichers cage?

yeh a brace between the bpillars.

could you not just make your own by welding in some CDS tube. CDS tube is only about 8 a metre

I have thought about that, but if I was going to modify the cage to my own spec anyway I might aswell go for a cheaper omp/sparco one in the first place. Hmm.... decisions?

    Where was your quote from?

    Cheers,
    Sean
