ok so 43 degres it is and is that with an 8mm drill bit in the hole?, so the hole is not flat on to the little face it is drilled into? cheers john
Yes 8mm drill bit, and the hole measured with a vernier sits 3mm in from the saide face of the head. Can take a more detail pic of that area if you want.
Hello Rich, i'm the guy that has made up the drilling jig for John. Would you say the hole runs pependicular to the face in the recess? In you pics it looks like it does, but when we offered the jig up to the pillar drill, the bit wasn't at a right angle to that face. So... ...apologies for the quality, it's Friday. We/I only want to drill it once, for obvious reasons, so want to get it right. Thanks for your help.
I'd say so yeah by eye, i'm away next week (free from Friday) but if it's of use to you guys if you want to arrange a couier I can quite happily pack the spare head up and its yours if you want to be deffo sure of angles and measurements.
i don't think we need the head as you have measured the same angle as we got so the hole is not perpendicular with the surface of the cutout, but is positioned centrally on that face so thanks for the info and the offer of the head cheers john
so today was the big day me and jezzer drilled the hole and here it is looking in from the bottum of the head to see where hole ended and some other pics of the head studs removed so i can have the face skimmed as there are a few marks on it that would give me trouble when sealing the intak or exhaust cheers john
yeah came out exactly where we thought it would and at depth and angle you measured mate so many thanks for all your help cheers john
