mmm its amazing how many answers you get from people that don't have and probably never had a 2.0 8v mk3 saying they are slow

    I think you should change this thread to "0 to 60 in a STANDARD GTI 8v 2.0 " ;)

Well CabrioRags I have a std valve sized (B*GGER!) flowed head, flowed and matched inlet and exhaust manifolds, overbored and flowed and matched throttle body, a big b*tch assed Jettex filter, TSR204C cam (I have a CAT [xx(] ), BaStuck exhaust, even the AFM has had the internals worked - now thats anal! Bottom end aint been done yet - Gonna wait until the rings go and then it's gettin fully balanced and lightened and big valves. It aint even remapped yet and it keeps up with my mates 206GTi so it cant all be bad... I disagree with those that say the handling is crap - I've left plenty MKIIs', Saxos and the like on the twisties and no mistake... Needs a bit of left foot braking to get the best from it. I agree though that the standard MKIII GTi is pants slow but a little engine works brings back the sparkle [:D]

Not to the man or woman in the street! ;) They're a good way of comparing car for car, the main way most of us mere mortals judge the more sporty cars. :p
