So can the mk5 pump and filter be used with a mk3 tank?

    What are the cons?

i dont think you would need to use the mk5 pump but dont quote me on that
im 90% sure the vr pump would do the job
cons very few people have done it know about it or are letting on
that's what i found but thing move on
i only know about the fuel filter becuse i looked on ETKA
the only one iv seen is a corrado on the corrado forum and im sure he tryed to mix and match a few things not sure why may have been easer to fit or something
will look and see if i can find the link
ever way you would need to use all the parts the match the ecu you use

do you have both halfs of the ecu loom that why most go for the mk4 route looms are easer to get hold of puls part are a bit cheaper for the mk4

    what do you have

I'm just doing my homework so far, I think the fsi engines need 8.5 bar fuel pressure so the vr pump won't do?

Just wondered if there was any updates on this, I am doing this conversion with my obd1 mk3 vr6, The engines i have found i have narrowed it down to 2, one is the mk5 r32 (bub) the other is the tt 3.2 (bfh). The only advantage i can see with the tt unit is that i can run the original fuel rail as fitted to the tt with my vr fuel pipes compared to having to purchase a mk4 r32 rail to use on the mk5 engine.
Am i best sticking with the correct ecu for the engine or i was hoping to use post 00/01 mk4 4motion looms and ecu with a ecu defeat,
I have been researching this alot and aware of quite a few different ways of doing it, Was hoping to use the 4motion ecu/wiring looms to have a custom loom made up as it would be a bit cheaper than buying r32 ecu/wiring looms,
any help/ideas would be great. :)

if you use the later 2001 on 4motion me7.1.1 ecu the ecu will need a remap as well as immobilizer defeat it may end up costing just as much as getting a right r32 ecu
    bare that in mind
i was160+VAT for a R32 ecu and 300 for the loom but that was the two ecu looms plus the dash loom that is not needed

i got a lot of parts be phoning breakers that had r32 parts for sale on ebay
most dont sell the ecu and looms with the bare engine so have lots of them

i will try and find the breakers i used

immobilizer defeat get a stand alone one it should cost less then one that needs to be done in in conjunction with a remap like the REVO one i was quoted over 500 by a REVO dealer up hear

i think ian used andyout to get his done

Thinking of trying to adapt the mk5 r32 airbox to keep the engine bay looking oem, Can anyone advise if you can use a mk4 v6 maf for a mk5 engine or will it have to be a mk5 maf? cheers

Vr6 one is fine, that's what I'm using. I guess it depends on what gearbox you are using for it to mount to. I'm not sure if they are the same fixings?
