Crank machined up far better than my own did, none of that jive going on when it was clocked up in the vice.
Just the I/M bearings to do them get the re-bore when the pistons arrive [:D]

Just had a mail from Tanya at IPP [:x]

Now she's telling me that the Scat rods are out of stock and they're not getting any till the end of the month.[:^(]

I've replied saying that i'm 'a bit dissapointed' as surely when I placed the order last week and they had rods 'good to go' that if there were rods on the shelf then, they should've been saved for me? Or doesn't it work like that? [:s]

    FFS!! [:x]

    Could be worse.

Could have just had a phone call saying to go down the pub and get bolx'd as there's a hole in your cylinder head [:^(]

Going down to have a look at the head. The hole is about 1mm, really small, but welding it may not be an option as the wall may just blow through with the weld.
So, I've been looking around the net, and an option maybe to plug the hole with some stainless wire with a knot in it coming from the back and pulled through into the port, and chemical metal it in place. Could actually bea good option as the e-metal you can egt nowadays will set under water an is impermiable to water and oils.
    Fingers crossed

As for the rods mate, someone on the Vortex forum has mentioned that IPP are selling an identical looking rod for the same price but made by someone else. Maybe worth a look?

Toga rods, been looking at those, they list them for a KR but only up to 92 , 'spose thats when they stopped producing the KR. If the 6A rods are the same as a KR , I'll see if they've got any.

Worth a try with the head mate, be a shame to have to dump it. [8(]

Just read the other post and replied, the rods are the same for both, just the rifle drilling that would eb different.
MAy be an option for the other rods then

Picked up the head [xx(] quite a few little perforated holes in the port divider. Just dropped it off to see if it can be TIG'd up. Will have to wait until tomorrow to see the out come.

Thanks Mart, so KR rods and 6A rods are 20mm pins and 144mm length. I'll see if they've got any...

Their listing doesn't state any 9A/6A but loads of other engine codes.

    Should be interesting Gary

I assume your getting the lot balanced? Makes a nice difference later on when you start to rev it over the standard factory settings.

I note your staying with your own tested cam spec?

Ian, yes the bottom end will be balanced.

I want to get the bottom end all built up, in and running before messing about with cams etc.

Rob,things must be on back order, it's the story of my life

The blerb on the bar-tek site says an extra 0.75litre of oil,but no doubt it's the same sump as you had [:s]

I'm hoping you're right as with my oil cooler it takes nearly 5 litres of oil as it is now

when I bought mine mate, It was a 450+ order, and It was though my mate who is in the trade. Your quote is pretty expensive, I wouldnt have got it if it was that price.

Very bad news on the head Mart [8(],

I'll get you a weight on the crank mate as soon as I get it back. It's gonna be light though!!!

With the JE's, and steel rods, the weight balance between what i've taken off the crank and the new setup should be spot on. What I was saying about the im-balance should be pretty much illiminated :)
