the danger of selling all this 16v stuff is pollution of the market, it gives the 16v fans chance to grow. i think all 16v stock should be melted to stop this gross overpopulation from occuring. As 8AS has taken a blow lately we need to reunite to overcome this problem of 16vs!
I have a 20v and tbh, i kinda miss my old 8v [:^(] There's something lovely about all it's lovely 8v torqueyness that just binds you to it. Then the turbo spools up and suddenly those 8 oversize valves kinda vanish from my mind Until i get back into town, then i'd prefer the 8v again [:^(] VW life is so full of highs and lows! So, 8AS will never die! it'll just go underground!

How much? Why the requirement to buy everything? You could use those things on the end of your hands to do some real work, instead of just pressing calculator buttons. Pack D is old hat now. VAG has made 8v heads with large exhaust ports and thin stems for a while now. These heads are now cheap as chips, as you 16v loons throw them away for your "upgrades". Does weight not come into this anywhere along the lines? It has been a while since this subject has been brought up?
Surely any seller of goods should not question why someone would want to take all stock? So this simply adds weight to the theory that this former head of the now-defunct 8AS is a charlatan, unwilling to let go of his 16v stocks, despite deriding it, owning a 16v track car, and promoting the 8v at every turn! So why did VW build the 16v, when they already had a more powerful 8 valve engine in the wings? Marketing only! Astra 16v! Why do we need to put V8 heads on valvers to make the valvers work? Cos., Audi designed a better head.(cue BrianG to slice aV8 head)
I had 4x 8v golfs one of which was a Gti Engineering DX in a mk1. After my 3rd 8v I found the problem and quickly gave the 8v the boot from there on. 16v FTW 8v FWSIT (For When Sat In Traffic). Gurds
