abf k jet

    ive timing set to 6deg btdc,co2 I set at 1.5%,got loan of fuel pressure gauge and set wur to 3.4 bar and system pressure is 5bar

    I seem to have oil leaking from number 6 oil temp sensor at back of cylinder head.ive tried another sensor but its still leaking.i don't want to over tighten the sensor in case it snaps of in the head.is it common for these sensors to leak ?.I have checked rocker gasket and dizzy all seem good.

    has it got the sealing washer under the sensor? worth a look at the face of the head it needs to seal against as well, might have been damaged in the past

    Has the washer behind it.is it common for them to leak

    usually they are fine even if you use 2nd hand parts, this is why I suspect its the face on the block thats damaged

    I'll try new sensor and see does it seal.if it doesn't what would be next step

    check the sealing face on the head, and the threads to maker sure its not been cross threaded in the past

    I'll check them over.motor factors can get me new sensor but has blue collar

    if its pattern the colours often dont match, for vw the blue one is for 0-180 vdo gauges though

    Yeah it's pattern one,motor factors cant get the white colour sensor

    the part number you need for reference is 049919563A, vw still stock it for 18.36+VAT :)

    Sensor fitted no oil leak.want to get new Vdo t piece who sells them.dont want to use old one again

    That part number is now replaced with 037129717F which may help your search a bit. Its only recently been made NLA from VW but plenty of aftermarket suppliers will stock it as its the same for all the VAG group 1.8-2.0 16v engines

    Local engine shop have gasket on order hopefully here Thursday

    I am thinking of running my mk1 on abf injection rather than the old k jet
    engine is abf block with kr head and scirocco 16v inlet&injection
    is it easy to wire in abf loom
