on with the 2nd coat and it turns out the mrs is pretty handy with masking tape and not bad at spraying
great progress there matey, tho i would be wary of painting a surface that a wheel mounts to. i believe it has been mentioned variously over time on the forum, just looking at your rear disks there that top surface should be kept clean, just a heads up, otherwise brilliant progress
Yeah i see you point and in hinsight shouldnt have painted the faces but thats just something else i have learnt though the process cheers
Jeez, this is an amazing amount of work. I have my MK2 on its side at the moment and bar a bit of welding and stripping back the underseal so that I can apply fresh underseal, it hasn't needed anything like the scale of work you're doing. And yet what I'm doing seems time consuming enough! Awesome progress.
first time ive viewed this rebuild great pics.i thought id done some work. it will be stunning when complete i look foward to seeing it finshed.
Great reading B-) First project, I remember mine well Clad to see you have got the obligatory slashed hand/finger out of the way. Have you done the "red hot spark in eye" yet? I had to have mine scraped off my eye ball at hospital :-0 Looking forward to seeing the next instalment :-) keep up the good work!
here are some photos from today, had a lot of help as you can see - cheers lads. unfortunately my early welds on the bulk head area were not pretty so a decision was made
Where have you gone kempster?? Your build thread is going to be my restoration manual! Need more updates buddy.
